History of Hanukkah

December 01, 2024

Hanukkah is the 8-day festival commemorating the historical act of the Jews revolting against the Greeks and rededicating the Temple to God. In 167 BC, they cleansed the Temple from Greek idols and rededicated the sacrificial altar to Yehovah. Before the Jewish revolt against the Greek Empire, the Greeks imposed several prohibitions on the Jews.
